For each Monday Night Football game this season, we will be having a 50/50 pool to benefit Pet Social Worker. Each square costs $5.
How it works:
1. Donate $5 per square (for the entire 16 week season)
2. Your square(s) will be randomly selected after all entries are paid
3. Each weeks numbers will be randomly selected prior to game 1
4. You will be sent a file with all 16 weeks and all squares
5. You will be sent money from Paypal on Tuesday if you win the week

Sonoran Search and Rescue, a not-for-profit, volunteer search-and-rescue organization affiliated with the Pinal County Sheriff’s Department, is looking for experienced trail riders to join its mounted unit.
Sonoran Search and Rescue is based in the Maricopa/Casa Grande area and seeks volunteers within 90 miles of the Florence area. They function as a tight knit, versatile team of volunteers, providing search resources trained in man-tracking, K-9 Search and Rescue, dive and technical rescue.

Maricopa Mourns the Loss of Ray Morrow

Ray Morrow, 40, of Maricopa, died August 19, 2008 as a result of an automobile accident. He is survived by his parents, Mary Morrow-Bax and Frank Bax; his brother, Daniel Morrow of Sun Valley, California; his stepbrothers, David Bax and Steven Bax and their wives, JoEllen and Michele; many aunts, uncles and cousins; his girlfriend, Kelly Standorf; and numerous dear friends.
Ray was a professional realtor and employing broker with Fortuna Land & Realty who was instrumental in bringing commercial business to Maricopa. He was involved with regional transportation planning and also an active member of the Maricopa Chamber of Commerce.

CASA GRANDE- Board of Supervisors Chairman David Snider will hold his monthly office hours at the Maricopa Interim City Hall on Wednesday, September 3. Supervisor Snider’s office hours in Maricopa are normally observed on the first Tuesday of the month; however, due to the Primary Election, he’ll be available to meet with residents the following day. The Chairman and District 3 Supervisor will be at the Interim City Hall, located at 45145 W. Madison Avenue from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm.

Support for Suicide Prevention is available to Maricopa residents

Many people are shocked to learn just how prevalent suicide is in our nation today. It is alarming to learn that more people die from suicides than from homicides in our country every year. It is now the 11th leading cause of death for all Americans, but suicide is the third cause of death for young people aged 15-24. According to the Federal Center for Disease Control, more teenagers and young adults died in 1999 from suicide than from cancer, heart disease, birth defects, stroke and chronic lung disease combined. Tickets are now on sale for the Maricopa Women in Business (MWIB) third annual Fashion Show Scholarship Fundraiser Luncheon, which takes place at Province Towne Center on Saturday, August 23, 2008, at 12:00 pm. The luncheon is MWIB’s largest fundraising endeavor each year and is an event the community eagerly anticipates.
The highlight of the luncheon is the fashions modeled by local volunteers, many of whom are escorted by members of the Maricopa Fire Department. This year, the fashions will be provided by Dillard’s and will include garments for both men and women, from children to seniors, and every age in between. Some of the models return each year because it has been such a fun experience. The fashions give Maricopa residents a sneak peak at what’s hot for the coming season. Read more
